Pittsburgh Connect: Spring Break Service Day is a community-centered alternative spring break experience for Penn State students who want to give back, explore mission-driven careers, and stay connected to Pittsburgh while home for break.
Hosted by the Franco Harris Pittsburgh Center at Penn State, and open to Penn State students from any campus or college, this experience brings together students for service, learning, and connection with Pittsburgh-based nonprofit organizations. Participants will meet on site at a local community partner location and spend the day engaging in meaningful volunteer work while learning more about careers in nonprofit and public service fields.
What to Expect
Spring Break Service Day participants will:
- Volunteer with a Pittsburgh nonprofit addressing real community needs such as food insecurity, environmental sustainability, or neighborhood revitalization
- Learn how mission-driven organizations operate through discussions and networking with nonprofit professionals
- Connect with Penn State students from across campuses and majors
- Enjoy light refreshments

Pittsburgh Connect is an initiative of the Franco Harris Pittsburgh Center at Penn State.
